Study in Canada: International Visionary Awards at Lakehead University | 2022

Lakehead University is welcoming foreign students to apply for the International Visionary Awards in Canada. The program is available for the academic session 2022/2023.

All non-Canadian candidates are qualified to apply for this award. To be eligible, the candidates should have been admitted to an undergraduate study program at the university and display academic merit. The scholarship award will take the form of a cash prize for up to four years.

Details About the Lakehead University

Lakehead University is a state-owned research university with campuses located in Thunder Bay and Orillia, Ontario, Canada. Lakehead University, abbreviated to ‘Lakehead U’, or ‘LU’, is non-denominational and provincially backed. It runs undergraduate programs, graduate programs, the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, the only globally accredited (AACSB) business school in northern Ontario, and houses the western campus of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

Lakehead has over 45,000 alumni. The primary campus in Thunder Bay has around 7,900 students. As of September 2006, a new permanent expansion campus in Orillia, situated about 150 kilometres (93 mi) north of Toronto, has around 1,400 students.

The institution has nine faculties: Business Administration, Engineering, Education, Faculty of Health and Behavioral Sciences, Natural Resources Management, Social Sciences and Humanities, Science and Environmental Studies, Medicine, and Graduate Studies. The Faculty of Law took in its first scholars in September 2013.

On the basis of full-time undergraduate enrolment, the Social Sciences & Humanities is the biggest faculty at Lakehead, with around 30% of the students, followed by Science & Environmental Studies, Health and Behavioral Sciences, Engineering, Education, and Business Administration. Two small faculties are Natural Resources Management and Medicine, each with not up to 2% of the student enrolment.
